I imagine our time abroad will be a defining event in both of our lives. As I've been told...it is likely to either "make us or break us." Hopefully it's the prior. I haven't spent more than a week or so outside of the country since 2010. Traveling is a major passion of mine. Every time my bank account gets over a certain number, I start planning another trip. And it has been well over that number for awhile now. I'm ready for a new adventure. I've traveled Europe extensively, I've seen a wee bit of the Middle East and Africa, and now I'm ready for Asia. I'm excited to see how vastly different the Japanese culture is from ours. And it sounds weird, but I find that I'm going to go through culture shock intriguing. The only place I've spend enough time in to experience culture shock was Italy. And I never went through it. Probably largely because I was living with Americans and going to an American school. Also, although there are many difference between Italian and American cultures, they aren't that vastly different. I'm ready to experience a culture that is vastly different than the one I know. And I know it is going to be very hard at times and that I'll get all stressed out and frustrated, but I'm excited. Yay!
Well, here's to a grand adventure with the man I love.
